Ten people perished on the spot while three victims were hospitalized following a grisly road accident at Makutano near Eldama Ravine junction.
The victims, who sustained serious injuries, were referred to Moi Teaching and Referral hospital in Eldoret.
The 9:00pm accident involved a Nissan Matatu and a truck that collided head on along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
Speaking at the hospital, the sub-county Medical officer Dr.Sheila Mwaruka said despite the efforts by her officers and hundreds of locals to respond to the situation, lack of CT made everything futile.
Dr.Sheila confirmed that the casualties were rushed to Moi and Teaching hospital.
" I attempted to rescue the victims but we don't have CT scan to check the damages and so we referred the victims to MTRH" she said.
The blackspot that has seen hundreds die between Salgaa and Kamara has extended to Makutano along the highway.
The accident comes hardly six days after another road accident claimed 20 lives and four days before Sachangwan tragedy was the Maraba near total along Nakuru-Highway that claimed lives of seven kalenjin artistes.
