Mohamed Salah may already be Liverpool's Egyptian king but he could still be crowned in a number of other ways before the end of the campaign.

The forward was named as PFA Player of the Year on Sunday evening after a stunning season in which he has scored 43 times, including 31 goals in the Premier League.

And Salah scored twice against Roma while also managing to provide two assists for his team-mates during the Champions League semi-final first leg at Anfield.

It has led to comparisons with the greats.

But Salah's figures mean that he is also on the cusp of making a huge impact on a statistical level too, beyond the romantic language of football.

Most goals by a Liverpool player in a Champions League campaign - 10

After his brace against Roma, Salah has now scored more goals than any other Liverpool player in a single campaign in Europe's elite club competition. Aided by a double against Maribor and consistent goals in most games this season.

Highest scoring African player in a single Premier League season - 31

Salah became the African player with the most goals in a single English top flight season with his 30th strike against Bournemouth. That put Salah ahead of Didier Drogba's 29-goal total from the 2009-10 season.

The eighth player to score 30+ goals in a single Premier League season

Very few players have actually managed to top 30 strikes in a single campaign. The list reads: Alan Shearer, Andy Cole, Kevin Phillips, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robin van Persie and Luis Suarez. Salah has joined that list of elite talent already.

Most goals by a Liverpool player in his debut season

Salah has already hugely surpassed Fernando Torres, who previously held this record. Torres scored 24 goals in the 2007-08 campaign, his first with the club.

Most games scored in during a Premier League campaign - 23

This record was previously held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Robin van Persie, who scored in 21 different games during a Premier League season. Salah's goal against West Brom took him to 23.

Most left-footed goals in a Premier League season - 24

Salah has broken another Liverpool forward's record this season with his brilliant left foot. Robbie Fowler scored 19 left-footed goals during the 1994-95 campaign. Salah already has 24 in the Premier League.

Top Premier League scorer in any season - 34

Andy Cole (1993-94) and Alan Shearer (1994-95) share the record for the most Premier League goals in any campaign — because the league initially had 42 games per club. Salah has three games to score more than three.

First player to beat three Premier League club totals in a season

Harry Kane managed to beat or match two clubs' goals tally in 2016-17. David McLean managed to match two other clubs in the 1912-13 campaign. Salah's 31 goals currently puts him ahead of West Brom (29), Swansea (27) and Huddersfield (27) and within spitting distance of Brighton and Stoke (32).

Top goalscorer in Europe

Salah is currently the leading goalscorer in Europe, which could make him the first ever African recipient of the Golden Shoe. Cristiano Ronaldo is one behind him, while Ciro Immobile is on 41.

Most consecutive home league games scored in for Liverpool - 8

The 25-year-old has scored in Liverpool's last seven games at Anfield in the Premier League. Roger Hunt and Fernando Torres both scored in eight successive games. Salah and Liverpool have Stoke and Brighton coming up at their home. It would be a mistake to discount Salah breaking this one too.
