Six classrooms collapsed at Gidimo primary school in Hamisi constituency at 2am on Thursday.
Nobody was injured in the incident but part of the school fence got destroyed.
"I heard a very loud bang which was like something had fallen from the sky followed by cries of help from the watchman," a resident, Santos Masiemo, said.
Headteacher Peter Memba said the classes built in the early 80s were heavily infested with termites.
The Education ministry had however ordered the demolition of some of them because of large cracks on the walls and floors.
One hundred and twenty class one and two pupils who used the classes are now learning under a tree.
Memba appealed to area MP Charles Gimose to use part of the CDF allocation to build other ones.
Board chairman William Kipkiget said two are under construction.
Kipkiget however decried the contractor's slow pace adding that he demanded immediate payment despite their agreement.
