NAROK: Bhang Peddler Quotes Bible To Justify Actions

In what is quickly becoming the oldest trick in the book, a man in Narok County quoted a verse from the bible to defend his use and peddling of bhang when he was arraigned in court to face charges following his arrest for possession and peddling of the drug.

The accused, John Mwiti, told the court that his actions were in accordance with what is written in Genesis 1:29 which according to the New International Version (NIV) bible says, "The God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."

He was however not successful in convincing the court to secure his release and he was sentenced to four months in jail for possession of bhang.
