All the vestments to be worn by Pope Francis during his eagerly anticipated three-day visit of Kenya next month are ready.

This is after the Reverend Sister Ida Lagonegro from the Community Superior of Dimesse Sisters announced completion of making of the vestments on Monday.

Pope Francis is expected in the country on November 25 for his maiden visit to Africa.

Sister Ida is supervising a team of tailors making the vestments for the Pope, bishops and priests.

She added that the Pope's three vestments are made from different fabrics and each will be won at a different service.

“The white regalia decorated with the JHS signs will be the first to be won upon his arrival. Since he is a Jesuit, we saw it fitting to brand the regalia to signify his origin,” Sister Ida said.

She said the second robe is the most expensive as its fabric is made of gold and it is imported from Greece. The vestment will be won during the main papal mass.

The third vestment with African designs will be won during the other mass.

Sister Ida said the other vestments to be used in the Papal Mass involving 300 priests and 60 bishops will be completed before end month.
