On Tuesday Former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse officially called time to his 17-year playing career to pursue a career as a DJ and producer. Yes, you read it right.
In a statement to , the footballer said, “I loved being a footballer, and so far the ball has been my life. I would have liked to continue playing but I must admit today that football is over. With the same passion, I will devote myself wholeheartedly to my career as DJ, producer and consultant, as well as developing my clothing brand. Thank you for all your support. The adventure continues, another life begins. A lion never dies.”
Cisse had been DJing and producing for a number of years (get a taste for his sets in the video below) but this announcement signals the fact that he is officially hanging up his boots for good.
Cisse scored 13 goals for Liverpool between 2004 and 2007.
