On Wednesday, Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama entered into history books by becoming just the second Kenyan to reach the Champions League semis.

The other Kenyan to achieve this fete was Wanyama's brother, McDonald Mariga who stormed into Semis back in 2010 before going to win under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.

Wanyama's Tottenham outsmarted Manchester City in a thrilling and iconic match that saw them lose 4-3 on the night but progress with a 4-4 aggregate and on away goal rule.

The Lion of Muthurwa produced a starring role in midfield where he partnered Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli in a night that will forever remain in his memories.

His brother, McDonald Mariga was among the millions of Kenyans who heaped the Kenyan skipper with praises.

Taking to his his Instagram page, Mariga wrote; Congratulations bro legoooo semis.

His younger brother, Harryson Wanyama posted a picture of him and Wanyama enjoying a meal, to celebrate his outstanding achievement.

He wrote: Damn somebody deliver some spaghetti to

His fellow Harambee Stars team mates could not help but Join Mariga in praising the superstar.

Michael Olunga: You deserve it bro 💪

City Governor, Mike Sonko also joined the bandwagon in congratulating his constituent:

Congratulations for your big role in qualification to the semi-finals, after edging out in an entertaining thriller. Nani kama wewe kijana wa Nairobi.

TV and Radio personality Carol Radull who is an Arsenal fan was left in a dilemma since Tottenham are her team's bitter rivals and a successful campaign for them would mean more banter on Arsenal who have never won the trophy.

She however was quick to congratulate Wanyama and also wished him all the very best with hopes that he emulates Mariga's Champions League success.

Imagine if Spurs go on to win the Champions League. I would be bitter as a Gunner; but as a Kenyan (which takes precedence) I would be so proud of He would become the second Kenyan and the second Wanyama to win it! Wow!   She wrote.
