KDF officer shoots dead 3 relatives and commits suicide in Eldoret

CID officers are still at the scene where a KDF officer shot dead three of his relatives before turning the gun on himself in an early morning incident at Jua Kali near Eldoret.

The officer drive from Gilgil where he is based and arrived in the area at about 5 am then attacked and shot dead his uncle, his aunt and another woman who he woke up from their sleep, before the killing.

Eldoret West OCPD Zachary Bitok says officers from a nearby station ran to the scene after hearing the gun shots but they found the killings had already taken place and the officer had also shot himself.

Neighbours suspect a family dispute may have led to the attack.
