Sergio Ramos, Miranda and Filipe Luis , nominated for the 'Best Liga BBVA Defender for 2013-2014' award

Sergio Ramos, Filipe Luis and João Miranda are the three defenders in the running for the prize for best defender at the '2014 LFP Prize Ceremony', which will be held on 27th October.

Sergio Ramos made a decisive contribution in Real Madrid's successful conquests of 'La Décima' and the 'Copa del Rey'. With a total of 32 games played, four goals and an assist, Ramos already picked up the award a year ago for his performances in the 2012-13 season.

Filipe Luis, meanwhile, became an important first-team player for Diego Simeone's title-winning 2013-14 team. The Brazilian played a total of 2,880 minutes in Spain's top flight last season, although he moved to Chelsea over the summer.

João Miranda closes out the list of nominees for 'Best Defender in the Liga BBVA'. He formed part of the defence that conceded the least goals last term, an impenetrable wall that proved key in lifting both the Spanish league and the 'Supercopa'. As well as being a key link in Atlético's solid defensive armour, Miranda managed to slot home four goals.
