Nakuru All Stars became the first team to officially be relegated from the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) after they went down 2-0 to Western Stima on Saturday at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

First half goals from Ali Bhai and John Kiplagat were enough to hand Western Stima this important win which keeps them firmly focussed on a top eight finish.

The loss leaves Top Fry bottom of the table on 17 points and with two matches to go, they have no chance of surviving since the best they can get is 23 points.

Top Fry were promoted to the KPL at the beginning of this season but have struggled to win their matches.

Things were made worse for the team when their shirt sponsor Top Fry pulled out leaving them struggling to pay players.

The team's first coach Oliver Page was fired after only two months and his replacement Peter Okidi did not do better even after Nick Yakhama was hired to assist the technical bench.

The team was renamed Nakuru All Stars in 2011 after being bought out by Danish investors.

Former international  Simeon Mulama was the first head coach at the club but was fired when the team failed to qualify for the KPL.

In another kenya premier league match, Thika United suffered a 0-1 home loss to Ulinzi stars .
