The biggest shocker is the exclusion of Ugandan Danny Serunkuma from the list of the Footballer of the Year nominees. In the goalkeeper of the year category, Gor Mahia's Jerim Onyango will look to defend his crown and faces opposition from Jairus Adira (Chemelil Sugar), Lucas Indeche (Sony Sugar), Robert Mboya (Mathare United) and Samuel Odhiambo (Tusker).
Jerim's teammate, David Owino will be looking to win the Defender of the Year award for the second season in a row. The 26-year old will however have to avoid tackles from teammate Haron Shakava, Felly Mulumba (Sofapaka), Charles Odette (Sony Sugar) and Jackson Saleh (AFC Leopards).
Jerim and Owino will not be the only ones looking to defend their titles. Tusker's mesmerizing midfield metronome Brian Osumba is among the nominees for the Midfielder of the Year award once again. Osumba has been nominated along Geoffrey Kizito, Anthony Ndolo, Humphrey Mieno (AFC Leopards) and Geoffrey Kataka (Ushuru FC).
The battle for the New Young Player of the Year award is be between Farouk Shikhalo (Tusker), Kennedy Owino (Nakuru AllStars), Andrew Anton (Sony Sugar) and Nairobi City Stars duo of Nicholas "Messi" Kamau and Kevin Omondi.
Nominees for the Coach of the Year award are Francis Baraza (Muhoroni Youth), Sam Timbe (Sofapaka), Mike Mururi (Chemelil Sugar), Robert Matano (Ulinzi Stars) and Francis Kimanzi (Tusker).
