Thief attempts to steal goat by dressing it in a shirt

A thief in Migori county attempted to escape with a goat by dressing the animal in a man's shirt before mounting a boda-boda motorbike on Thursday.

His plan however failed after he was arrested by a local administrator. Kawere Two B assistant chief in Uriri sub county, Charles Migoya, pounced on the 21-year-old man as he transported the animal to his home from Uriri Market at around 7.30pm in the evening.

The chief became suspicious of the queer load squeezed between the passenger and the boda boda rider and flagged down the fast moving motor bike.

“When I checked the load after the rider stopped, I was surprised to see a goat in a clean shirt seated between the two men and I immediately questioned them about  their motive for clothing the goat,” said Migoya.

The thief, Michael Atema, admitted to have stolen the goat after questioning. He was immediately arrested and taken to the Uriri Police station.  Atema will be arraigned in court for the offence which left Uriri residents in stitches.
