Alhaji Muniru Sulley, father of Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari, is suspicious that the Ghana Football Association might influence new coach Avram Grant over his son’s Black Stars return.

The former El-Kanemi Warriors coach fears the Football Association’s insistence that Muntari and two others players Michael Essien and Kevin-Prince Boateng must apologize before being recalled will undermine the coach’s efforts.

Muntari has been handed an indefinite suspension after beating up Black Stars management committee member Moses Armah without provocation at the World Cup.

Grant is on a tour of Europe and has planned to meet the AC Milan star.

Alhaji Muniru says the former Chelsea manager must be given the free hand to decide on how to re-admit his son and other players under suspension.

"The statement by Sannie-Daara (Ghana FA spokesperson) that unless the boys apologize they can't be taken, means they have started dictating to the coach,” Alhaji Muniru, who also coached Kano Pillars, told Joy FM.

“The coach knows what to do, if they had their way round Ghanaian coaches, this is a neutral coach; allow him to do his job.

“Am not saying Muntari should not apologize, am insisting that the Ghana FA must not interfere in the Grant final decision on whether Muntari rejoins the Black Stars or not."
