Backstage at the Ballon d'Or awards ceremony, minutes before the event kicked off, Cristiano Ronaldo and his son met up with Messi.

The Real Madrid player's son went up to the Barça star, who said warmly "How are you doing? How's it all going, good?".

"He watches a video online, of all of us, and he talks about you", Cristiano Ronaldo told Messi.

"And now you've gone shy?", Messi joked as the boy ran back to his father.
