The debate on who between Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and his Real Madrid counterpart Cristiano Ronaldo is the better player is one that never seems to go away.
Luis Figo has added his voice to the never-ending debate and despite Messi and Ronaldo winning seven Ballon d'Ors between them, the former Portugal and Real Madrid midfielder does not rate them highly as their current profile commands.
Figo reckons that some of the stars he lined up with and against during his playing days were more than a match for Messi and Ronaldo who are the undoubted top guns in the football world in recent years.
Even with Ronaldo recently beating him and the late Eusebio to earn the title of Portugal's best footballer of all time, Figo believes that some of the players he played with and lined up against were better than his compatriot and the Argentine.
"I had the pleasure of playing alongside some great players, possibly better than Cristiano and Messi", the former Real Madrid and Barcelona winger stated during a promotional event.
The Portuguese legend however claimed that Messi and Ronaldo are "the players who make the difference more than anyone else" right now.
