Uhuru directs county governments to issue title deeds to all schools to prevent wrangles

President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed county governments to issue title deeds to all schools in the name of school committees and boards of governors.

Speaking during the launch of Outering road construction project, Kenyatta said that the county governments concerned with title deeds to issue the documents to prevent wrangles that may arise.

He further directed Nairobi governor Evans Kidero and Members of County Assembly to report to the authorities on stolen lands in the county.

“If you are an MCA and you know there is public land that has been grabbed, inform us so that appropriate action can be taken to ensure justice has been done,” he said.

He said that those individuals who do not have title deeds but are sure that their houses are safely constructed to present documents at county authorities before the set date for demolition.

The president launched the construction of the Nairobi Eastern Missing Link roads at Nairobi’s Muratina Road on Thursday.

He said the construction of roads in the Eastlands area will accelerate development and enable businesses to thrive.

The president urged road contractors in charge of building roads to employ the youth from their region to solve the issue of unemployment in the country.

The launch was attended by Nairobi governor Evans Kidero, Transport and Infrastructure CS Michael Kamau, Devolution CS Anne Waiguru among other dignitaries.

The project which was hugely funded by the Africa Development Bank and is set to create access to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport via Airport North Road to the Thika superhighway.

Kenya Urban Roads Authority on its website said Chinese firm SinoHydro Corporation is building the road after winning the tender last year.

The 13km road will serve Baba Dogo, Huruma, Kariobangi North and South, Lumumba, Umoja, Innercore, Tena and Dandora estates.
