Former Moyale MP Philip Godana is dead.

The former legislator was shot dead in his Syokimau residence by robbers who broke into his house.

The robbers scaled the perimeter wall of the former MP’s home and cut the grills of the door before entering his house.

The robbers then allegedly separated the former MP from his family while ransacking his house.

Athi River DCIO David Wangai said Godana may have been shot after Endebes MP Dr Robert Pukose who is Godana’s neighbour, shot in the air when he heard the commotion in the deceased’s compound.

The robbers made off with electronics and cash of as yet unknown value.

Godana’s widow and Wangai are set to give the press a comprehensive statement of the Saturday morning incident.

Godana’s shooting comes a week after Kabete MP George Muchai and three aides were killed along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi under unclear cirumstances.

Muchai was laid to rest Friday afternoon.

A cross section of leaders both from government and the opposition as well as from trade unions and churches condemned the killing of the Kabete MP.

Five suspects arrested in connection with the killing of the MP, his two bodyguards and his driver were remanded to facilitate investigations.
