Legendary American comedian and television star, Groucho Marx once defined politics as; "The art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedies. A definition which most of us can vehemently agree.
In Kenya, we seem to be blessed with quite a number of personalities who have perfected the art of looking for trouble, either by their deeds or their words. We take a look at five memorable declarations by politicians/ personalities which turned against them:
1. "We are in your full support, and even if it means undressing, we will do it for your sake," - Nyeri Town MP, Hon Esther Murugi
Mr. Mutua back in 2013, wrote on Sunday Nation stating; "My crystal ball tells me President Obama won’t come to Kenya so long as Mr Kenyatta and Mr Ruto are in charge. He refused to visit Kenya after former President Mwai Kibaki was re-elected. That’s because he viewed Mr Kibaki’s election as illegitimate."
He will however be sure of numerous verbal attacks from Kenyans after President Obama confirmed that he will be visiting Kenya in July 23rd, almost two exact years after his comments.
