Police Airwing Commandant Rogers Mbithi has been spared the sack after a team formed to probe his conduct cleared him of wrongdoing during the April 2 terror attack at the Garissa University College.
At least 148 people, many of them students, were killed during the terror attack.
The Kavuludi led National Police Service Commission has subsequently renewed Mbithi's contract as the Police Airwing Commandant with effect from June 12 this year for a period of three years.
A five-man team was appointed to probe allegations that the Recce Squad unit delayed travel to the university during the terror attack was due to Mbithi deploying a police chopper for personal errands.
