Police ban Mombasa crime alert group

Police on Tuesday banned the controversial Mombasa crime alert group following complains from members of the public about harassment and extortion .

Mombasa County commander Francis Wanjohi says the group has been engaging in security operations, masquerading as police officers. Meanwhile police have declined an offer by the group for a police station constructed and donated to the force at Mtwapa.
