Former Manchester United and Everton manager David Moyes has been sacked as manager of Spanish club Real Sociedad.
Moyes was hired to take over at the Spanish club exactly a year ago and steered them to a 12th place finish after finding them flirting with relegation.
Sociedad find themselves at the same spot Moyes found them last year and Friday's defeat to Las Palmas proved to be the straw that broke the camel's back.
During his tenure, Moyes took charge of 42 matches winning 12 times, drawing 15 and losing 15 matches.
His assistant, Bill McKinlay, also had his contract terminated.
The Basque club has turned to former Barcelona assistant coach Eusebio Sacristan to replace Moyes.
