Following on from Raheem Sterling scooping the 2014 Golden Boy award, another Premier League youngster has been crowned as Europe's finest young player, after Manchester United's Anthony Martial was awarded the prestigious honour, this year. reports.
The 20-year-old Frenchman, who joined United from Monaco on transfer deadline day for an astronomical £36m has enjoyed a fine start to his Old Trafford career, notching six goals and impressing with a string of electric performances.
The award was established by Italian newspaper Tuttosport in 2003 and is voted on by several European football journalists. The likes of Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Paul Pogba, Mario Goetze and Sergio Aguero have been honoured with the gong over the 12 years of its existence, so Martial is in esteemed company.
