Sonko's Bodyguard Shot Dead

Police are investigating an incident in which one of the bodyguards attached to Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko was shot dead and robbed of his gun in an attack at Mwiki, Nairobi.

The officer was shot in the forehead and died while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital on Saturday.

Bakari Tsuma had dropped the former Makadara MP in Gigiri area on Friday midnight and was on his way to his residence in Mwiki area when he met his death.

Sonko and police said the officer was attacked by three people who were armed with an AK47 rifle and pistols.

Police added that they are yet to arrest those behind the murder and robbery.

On his part, Sonko said he felt his life is in danger after the killing of his bodyguard who has left behind four children.
