On Friday March 18, Radio Jambo presenter Gidi left his followers on Instagram guessing, after he posted a photo of himself singing in a studio with Rosemary Odinga, who is the eldest daughter of CORD Leader Raila Odinga.
Gidi captioned the photo "Watch this space" and tagged Rosemary Odinga who had a beaming smile as she held onto a set of headphones.
The photo and Gidi's caption without a doubt gives every indication that the two have recorded a song together and only time will reveal more about the project they are doing together.
Before establishing himself as one of the most popular and influential radio presenters, Gidi enjoyed an illustrious music career along with Ghetto Radio's Maji Maji.
Together they were known as Gidi Gidi Maji Maji and were undoubtedly Kenya's biggest hip hop duo after releasing chart-topping songs such as Ting' Badi Malo, Atoti, Many Faces and Unbwogable, the song which they are most remembered for as it propelled them to nationwide stardom, after it was adapted by the then Rainbow Alliance at the height of the 2002 General Elections campaigns.
Rosemary may have no history as a musician to boast of, but there is no denying that she can sing.
During the burial of her elder brother, Fidel Odinga, in January last year, Rosemary warmed herself into the hearts of Kenyans with oratory and her singing of Bob Marley's Redemption Song.
Since then Rosemary has made more public appearances and there has been talk that she may run for a parliamentary seat in the forthcoming 2017 General Elections.
Most recently, she has been touted as among those who may be elected as the next Chairperson of Gor Mahia FC, a club which her father is its patron.
While whatever they are upto remains a big secret between them and the people they are working with, it goes saying that whatever song they produce, is going to be a big hit.
