Following the defeat, Leopards drop to third place in the league table with fourteen points same points with Tusker and Mathare, but with inferior goal difference. Mathare moved to second place after beating Ushuru one nil, while Sony Sugar and Western Stima settled for a barren draw.
On Saturday, Tusker FC rallied from behind to draw 1-1 against Bandari in the KPL. Stephen Owusu canceled out David Kingatua's opener, as the bottlers moved back to the top of the table. Champions Gor Mahia beat Kakamega Homeboyz 3-0 in their first win this season, Enock Agwanda opened the scores in the first half, before debutant Rwandese forward Jacques Tuyisenge and Jacob Keli added one each.
Other matches saw Chemilil Sugar beat struggling Sofapaka 2-1, while Thika United played to a barren draw with Posta Rangers.
