The two were arrested after Caroline Wambugu and Gladys Nyamu reported the matter at Makadara police station.
Police said they obtained Sh4 million via M-Pesa while the rest of the money was handed in cash.
They said the offenses were committed on diverse dates between January and March.
The accused, Samuel Muchai and Esther Gitau, have today appeared in court where they denied two counts of the charges between 2015 and 2016 at Donholm.
They allegedly obtained Sh1.1million from Gladys Wamuyu Nyamu and another Sh5.5million from Catherine Wamuyu Nyamu, on claims that they were in a position to help her travel to Canada.
They are also accused of defrauding Nyamu of 5.5 million to conduct exorcism prayers for her family.
They were released on a bond of 2million shillings or a Cash bail of 500,000 shillings each.
