World's Football Governing body, FIFA have appointed Chelsea legend Didier Drogba as Deputy Chairman Of The Footballer Stakeholder Committee, confirms.

FIFA’s corruption crisis has finally reached its term according to President Gianni Infantino.

The scandal-battered organization appointed Fatma Samoura as the organization’s new Secretary General. Infantino hopes that the Senegalese national, who used to work for the United Nations, will help improve FIFA’s image. “FIFA is back on track. So I can officially inform you here, the crisis is over,” Infantino told the press.

In his quest to bring more transparency to the football organization, FIFA President Infantino put in place new operational reforms in the organization. These changes include setting up enhanced compliance for revenue and spending, putting in place eligibility checks for new members of committees and senior positions, publishing individual compensation of senior FIFA officials and appointing independent members on key committees.

Former world players of the year Luis Figo and Mia Hamm were asked to join the development committee as independent members while Ivory Coast former striker Didier Drogba was asked to be the Deputy Chairman of the footballer stakeholder committee.

However, Drogba is yet to accept the nomination.
