Jubilee MPs Condemn CORD's Parallel Madaraka Day Rally As Governors Back It

Jubilee legislators have condemned CORD's move to hold a parallel rally at Uhuru Park during Madaraka day celebrations. Led by Devolution CS Mwangi Kiunjuri they say such a move shows disrespect to those who fought for freedom.

This comes after the Council of Governors said they have no objection to CORD's rally as the constitution allowed all Kenyans to celebrate a national holiday in a way that pleases them.

CORD's Raila Odinga has rubbished claims that the Uhuru Park rally is meant to counter President Uhuru Kenyatta's Madaraka Day celebrations that will be held in Nakuru. Raila says the rally won't be used for politics, but as an opportunity to pray for the country's unity and peace.
