Matiang'i Gives Security Chief's 48 Hours To Investigate Cause Of Dorm Fire In Itierio Boys

Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has ordered security chiefs to speed up investigations into the fire that burnt down seven dormitories at Itierio Boys High school. Matiang’i says they’ve 48 hours to complete investigations into the incident and hand over the report to his office.

Schools shouldn't admit a transferring student from another institution that has unrest reports without an official letter from the Sub County Director of Education. Matiang’i says the letter will show the conduct of the student in question.

Meanwhile, learning institutions should invest in hiring professional security personnel.Security Expert George Musamali says this will ensure faster response and high alert on rampant cases of arson or other forms of criminal activity.
