Shocking moment football hooligans storm the pitch and attack a referee

A gang of football hooligans brutally attack a referee after he awards their rival team a penalty in a shocking video.

Violence erupted onto the pitch at the San Luis stadium in the city of Clorinda in Argentina, during a match between home side Hertelendy and visitors Primero de Mayo.

Thugs threw punches and even aimed karate kicks at his head after the penalty was scored.

Alejo Espinoza, Director of the local Clorindense Football League, said that the men involved in the fight had already been identified.

He explained: 'They are the same ones who usually come to the stadium drugged up or drunk. I hope club authorities ban them from even entering the stadium again.'

The match was suspended due to the fight and it was not reported at which point during the match the shocking incident took place.
