Frustrated with Papadopoulos's attempts to rip the ball from his grasp, Dzeko, who now plays his club football for Roma, then pulled the Greek defender's shorts down, sparking a melee involving most players from both sides, as well as technical staff who ran onto the pitch.
Dzeko, who had already been booked earlier in the match, was shown a second yellow card by referee Jonas Eriksson for his troubles, while Papadopoulos was given a straight red for his part in the incident.
