Two Suspected Thugs Lynched In Botched Robbery In Mukuru Kayaba

Two suspected thugs were last evening lynched by the public in a botched robbery in Mukuru Kayaba slums, Nairobi. The two were part of a gang that had been attacking and robbing residents when an alarm was raised.

Police say the alarm alerted locals who chased and stoned the two to death.

Their bodies were later moved to the mortuary. Police discourage incidents of mob lynching and ask those caught be handed over to authorities for processing.

According to police, those caught over mob lynching will be charged with various charges including murder.

Meanwhile, several people were left homeless in a fire incident in Mukuru slums, Nairobi.

Police say no one was hurt in the incident whose cause is yet to be established. Those affected have asked for help to rebuild their structures. There has been an increase of fire incidents in city slums with authorities calling for caution to tame the situation.
