Nakumatt FC and Zoo Kericho will resume their Kenyan Premier League matches, after the Court of Appeal reinstated them back to the league.

However, the court will make a full ruling on November 3 when the league will be nearing completion. Nakumatt and Zoo, had been suspended from the competition two weeks ago after a petition filed by former FKF president Sam Nyamweya over the composition of the league.

FKF president Nick Mwendwa filed an appeal, and the two clubs who were promoted to the league this season enjoined themselves in the appeal.

We couldn’t ask for a better ruling than this,” said FKF president Nick Mwendwa.

“This ruling is not only for the players but also for the thousands of families whose livelihoods where threatened by the uncertainty of the High Court ruling, which also set us up for a possible FIFA ban.

“We should not be playing football in court but on the pitch, however the former president, without any locus standi decided to complain but the court has found that the players need to be allowed to play as we await the determination of the case,” added the FKF president in a statement sent to newsrooms.
