Six people killed in fatal road accident at Mariakani

Six people were on Saturday killed in a grisly road accident, Mariakani along the Mombasa Nairobi highway.

Police said the accident involved a lorry and Nissan Matatu.a mother and two children are among the six killed in morning accident.

Coast traffic commandant Emmanuel Okanda said matatu waa heading to voi  from Mombasa. Three died on the spot while others died at coast general hospital. Okanda said they are looking for the driver of the lorry who escaped.

" The driver the lorry was overtaking when it collided with the Nissan Matatu,"said Okanda. He says the driver will be arrested and charged with reckless driving and causing death.
