Night runner arrested at Ndabibit village in Nakuru County

A night runner is someone who leaves many in awe, shock and amazement because of their behaviour: that of stripping naked and running like that in the dead of night.

Angry residents of Ndabibit village in Nakuru County on Thursday seized a nightrunner who had reportedly evaded authorities for 10 years.

Dozens of locals from Keringet Ward jammed the compound of the suspect’s grandmother after word got round that he had been caught naked.

A few residents who spoke to Citizen Digital said the man had been terrorising them at wee hours of the night.

“He came to my house and woke me up 2a.m and kept telling me to follow him. I realized he was naked and called out for help and luckily my neighbours responded in good time,” one resident said.

Another resident, Mr. Samuel arap Chebusit, said the night runner was known to many and several reports made at the chief’s office who dispatched officers when they were told about he latest incident.

The officers found the man naked with both of his hands tied using a rope. Interestingly, the man is to pay a fine of five cows to the village elders as punishment.
