Not too long ago, Deputy President William Ruto revealed he used to tune his wife Rachel by shuttling almost six kilometers, from his parents home in Sugoi to Kakamega where she lived.
Ruto said his wife Rachel went to schoolat Lukuyani Primary School and Butere Girls High School in Western Kenya.
On April 27, Ruto admitted why he cannot stop visiting western, after paying Rachel’s dowry at Lukuyani after they got married.
He told those questioning his visits to the opposition stronghold that the region is his second home.
Ruto said the reason why he loves the region is because of the people's hospitality. They gave a me a good "thing" (wife).
When you get your better half from a certain county, you obviously have fond memories and feelings for the place, Ruto said amid amusement from delegates.
Mrs Ruto was yesterday holding a meeting with donors, and she showed Kenyans why perhaps the DP fell hard for her.
She revealed she used to walk long distances to fetch water. Photos of her demonstrating her previous life, impressed many.
She wrote about it saying;
'Yesterday, I held a consultative meeting with leaders of the Partners for Care Organization and the Managing director of Mater Hospital who laid out their water storage innovation that makes fetching water a simple and effortless task. I was taken back to my earlier days where fetching water and walking long walks was burdensome and exhaustive. Thanks to this new innovation, we hope to bring this life transforming model closer to women in our nation.'
