There are certain films you might not have known were filmed in Kenya. Some of these films were acted a long time ago while others up to date are being acted and showcased.

1.Sense 8

It is an American science fiction drama web television series created by Lana and Lilly Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski for Netflix.

Parts of its scenes were acted in Nairobi, Kenya.

2.Nowhere in Africa

It is a 2001 German film that was written and directed by Caroline Link. The screenplay is based on the 1995 autobiographical novel of the same name by Stefanie Zweig. It tells the story of the life in Kenya of a German-Jewish family that immigrated there in 1938 to escape persecution in Nazi Germany. The film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film as well as five German Film Prizes

3.Born to be wild

Morgan Freeman narrates this documentary about two dedicated animal preservationists. Daphne Sheldrick has created an elephant sanctuary in Kenya, while Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas has set up an orphanage for orangutans in Borneo. In both cases, the young animals have been left alone after their parents were killed, by either poachers or similar human incursions into their natural habitats. Viewers get to see the animals nurtured with love and care before they are introduced back into the wild.

4.The Constan Gardener

It is a 2005 political thriller film directed by Fernando Meirelles. The screenplay by Jeffrey Caineis based on the novel of the same name (2001) by John le Carré. The story follows Justin Quayle (Ralph Fiennes), a British diplomat in Kenya, as he tries to solve the murder of his wife Tessa (Rachel Weisz), an Amnesty activist, alternating with many flashbacks telling the story of their love.

5.The first grader
