Even though Ryan Giggs has retired as a footballer, he is still actively involved in the game as he is the current assistant manager of Manchester United. Famous as a left-winger during his playing days, the Welshman's presence on the dugout has revealed something about him that was previously not known by many. He is right-handed.

Whether or not it makes perfect sense that Louis van Gaal's right-hand man at Manchester United is a former left-winger who writes with his right hand, it turns out that Giggs is not the only footballer in the world with that mind-boggling trait.

Patrice Evra, Gareth Bale, Ashley Cole, Jack Wilshere, David Silva, Lionel Messi, Lukas Podolski, Robin van Persie and Iker Casillas are just some of the famous names known for having left as their dominant foot but prefer holding a pen with their right hand.

The trait is not just unique to left-footed players as there are some right-footed footballers who are also not in the right mind. Rio Ferdinand, Franck Ribery, Cesc Fabregas and  Ruud van Nistelrooij are known to write with their left hands despite being right-footed.
