This was revealed when members of the Kenyan African pop group, Elani which consists of Wambui Ngugi, Brian Chweya and Maureen Kunga, were hosted on Radio Jambo by breakfast presenters, Gidi and Ghost.
Formed seven years back, the group has significantly grown from a local band to rivaling fellow Kenyan group, Sauti Sol as one of Africa's best performing groups, after winning hearts across the continent and beyond.
Known for their hit album, 'Barua Ya Dunia' which consisted of hit songs like; "Jana Usiku" "Milele"and "kookoo" , Elani's star has since risen beyond limits.
In the interview, the trio opened up about their seven-year journey, the recent troubles with Music Copyright Society of Kenya which involved royalties, their up coming collaboration with Sauti Sol as well as the recent arson cases which has swept Kenyan secondary schools.
However, the interesting bit was when Gidi popped the million dollar question. "Are you guys married or in relationships?"
"Wacha tu niseme hivi, sijaolewa, Wambui hajaolewa na Brian pia hajaoa. Watu wote ambao wanataka kutuchanganya na kutuoa watatupata kwa mitandao yetu ya kijamii." Said Maureen Kunga a trained lawyer. Igniting a hot debate on our social media pages, with listeners 'dropping their Cv's' in a bid to woo the beautiful ladies.
