Free-scoring Gor Mahia floored Chemelil Sugar to record their third straight league win, Ushuru downed favoured Tusker as Ulinzi Stars recorded their first win and Bandari, Sofapaka shared the spoils in Sunday’s matches.

Gor Mahia 3-1 Chemelil Sugar

Business-like Gor Mahia notched up their third straight win of the league on eight goals in all matches and counting.

Midfielder Khalid Aucho opened his 2015 account with a beauty of a strike four minutes before the half time whistle after some neat exchange with the lanky Michael Olunga.

Ali Abondo then doubled the scores two minutes after the restart with a powerful shot from his sure right foot much to the delight of the home fans.

Chemelil’s Meshack Karani gave his team a glimmer of hope four minutes from full time after successfully drawing out goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch and firing into the empty net.

The sensational Meddie Kagere however put matters to rest. He saw an opportunity two minutes to stoppage time when defender Collins Kisuya’s efforts to clear Godfrey Walusimbi’s pass fell onto his feet and he guided the ball home for K’Ogalo’s third goal and his second of the season.

“It was a good match and I am happy that the boys have bounced back with an impressive performance after the tough match against Bandari two days ago,” said K’Ogalo coach Frank Nuttall. Gor beat Mathare United 4-2 in their opening match before edging out Bandari 2-1 in their second match.

Tusker 0 –1 Ushuru

This is the second straight match without a win for the brewers and they will rue their missed chances.

It was Ugandan Robert Omunuk, who left Tusker at the end of the 2014 season, who delivered the goal against his former side.

Omunuk capitalized on poor communication between goalkeeper Tusker goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo and his defenders to make the decisive strike.

But take nothing from the taxmen who were impressive on both sides of the break, with Moses Arita and Charles Okwemba repeatedly testing the brewers’ custodian.
