The body of a Kenyan student who drowned while swimming in a lake in Germany has been flown to Kenya.
Joshua K’Oduka, who moved to Germany a month ago and was attending language courses at the University of Leipzig is said to have drowned at a lake in the Eastern German city.
His mother Benta K’Oduka said it was Joshua’s second trip to Germany having been here in 2013 for an internship at the University of Heidelberg.
Ms K’Oduka said the body was flown to Kenya ahead of his burial on Friday in Homa Bay.
A Maseno University graduate, Joshua was a well-known researcher in the field of medical entomology and parasitology focusing on Malaria even worked at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI).
