Cristiano Ronaldo equalled Hugo Sánchez's La Liga goals tally when he scored against Las Palmas in a 3-1 win for Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.
The Mexican star, who is hailed as one of the finest forwards in Real Madrid and Spanish league history scored 234 La Liga goals across stints at Atlético Madrid (54 goals), Real Madrid (164 goals) and Rayo Vallecano (16 goals).
Ronaldo is now joint-third in the list of La Liga's all-time topscorers.
He still needs to score 17 more goals to catch up with Telmo Zarra in second place.
Barcelona's Lionel Messi is the all-time La Liga goalscorer with 289 goals.

As well as drawing level with Sánchez, Ronaldo has also reached one of his own personal targets. He has now scored against every league club he has played against since joining Real Madrid in 2009.
That leaves a list of precious few opponents he has failed to make his mark against: Cruz Azul and San Lorenzo in the Club World Cup, and Dinamo Zagreb and PSG in the Champions League.
He will be coming up against the French side once more this coming Tuesday, giving him another chance to add them to his list of victims for Real Madrid.
