When it comes to matters football, Radio Jambo presenter Fred Arocho is arguably one of the best in the country alongside sports wrap presenters Toldo Qurya and Diamond Okusimba, popularly known as the professor of football, due to his football prowess and un-rivalled analysis.

Arocho better known as 'Twiga', a Swahili word for giraffe, on Monday paid tribute to retired footballer Boniface Ambani, one of Kenya's most decorated footballers.

Ambani began his career with the Kenyan premier league side Rivatex back in 1997 before joining the likes of AFC Leopards where he won the league in 1998 (the last time Ingwe won the league!), Oserian and Tusker among other foreign clubs where he scored at will, setting numerous goal scoring records.

It is for these reasons that Arocho opted to pay a special tribute the legendary forward, who ranks as one of Kenya's most decorated footballers, having won 7 league titles in his top flight career.

Below is Arocho's special tribute to Boniface Ambani:

Today may i present urgubly (sic) the most travelled and decorated son of our soil in soccer Bonface N Ambani.

The lanky striker began his local top flight soccer career on a high winning the league tittle in three occasions for 3 different clubs (Afc Leopards 98', Oserian fc 2001, Tusker 2007) in a span of less than ten years. The last time 'Amba' won the league in Kenya (07) he did it in style, finding the net 26 times a fete that hasn't been replicated by any other player in recent times. This scoring magic wasn't just evident within our borders, in 2009 while playing for Yanga fc in the Tanzania's top soccer league, the goal thirsty Boni made history yet again by netting 24 goals in a calender year a fete that is still unrivalled to date in the Vodacom league.

Having played in Vietnam, Oman, China, India and South Africa, winning a total of 7 league tittles the Kahawa Baracks born has none to compare with in his generation or any other generation so far. With a humble but strict personality, Bonface is now retired from the game, exercising every Sunday at Ruaraka grounds with Tusker 'wazee' fc where he still bangs-in goals at will. Currently he is the proprietor of Bochend General Merchant Ltd (a sports wear company) with franchises in Nairobi and Eldoret.

The Ambani family is not only know for soccer, they have spread their talents in several other sports disciplines . Current national handball ladies captain Alexina Ambani (KDF officer at M.A.B) is a younger sister, whereas former national team power forward Vincent Ambani does it in Basketball not forgeting the 'ever green' (then) former leopards goal getter Fred Ambani.

Ambani is our hero, a legend worth celebration. #‎TwigaNews‬..
