Women To Be Separated At Likoni Ferry To Curb Sexual Harassment

Mombasa residents have expressed different views over a proposal by the county government, suggesting the separation of men and women while boarding the ferry following alleged cases of sexual harassment.

Sections of  residents says the move will reduce the rampant cases of sexual harassment by men taking advantage of congestion at the busy channel to exploit women.

Kenya Ferry Managing Director Hamis Gowa confirmed several incidents have been reported but it has been difficult to prosecute culprits because most of the victims shy away from reporting cases.
