South Africa's president, Cyril Ramaphosa has joined a list of prominent men who have paid a huge amount of dowry across the world.
Ramaphosa is expected to visit Uganda this weekend to pay a total of 100 cows among other expensive gifts in his son's dowry ceremony.
His son Andile Ramaphosa is set to marry Rwakairu Bridget who is a niece to former Uganda Prime Minister and presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi.
According to Allafrica.com, the 37 year old was born to the late Shadrack Rwakairu of Kabale and Ms Peace Ruhindi. Mr Mbabazi took over the raising of Rwakairu after her father's death in 1983.
It is believed that the ceremony will be on Saturday 19th May 2018 at Nyonyi Gardens in Kololo, the residence of Rt Hon Amama Mbabazi.
Ramaphosa joins the likes of Sultan Bin Salman, the Saudi Prince who paid a bride price of 50 million dollars equivalent to Ksh4,547,362,500 early May.
The wedding convoy had between 20-30 white Range Rovers and more than 35 large boxes were offloaded from a white luxurious bus to be presented to the bride’s family. The bride was also gifted Diamonds. A chariot filled with gifts for the bride and her family was also seen at the venue of the wedding.
