An Embu deceased woman’s family whose husband tried in vain to have her resurrected last week on Saturday blocked the press from covering her burial.

The family of the deceased Pollyrose Ng'endo chased away the pressmen who had gone to Rianjeru Village in Mbeere South Sub- county to cover the burial of her body after her husband Robinson Karumba on Wednesday made news by praying for her resurrection the whole day.

Trouble started when the media crew arrived as the burial ceremony as it was going on at around 1pm when the relatives and mourners spotted them.

Some seemingly agitated relatives gathered up and held an impromptu meeting in which they resolved to block the electronic and print media personnel from covering the burial of the highly publicized deceased woman.

The media personnel  sought to talk with one of the relatives to seek permission to cover the event but the family which had already decided did not want the presence of the media ordered them out of the compound.

They did not however explain why they did not want the media to cover the burial.

Due to fear of confrontation from the mourning relatives’ friends and neighbors the media men hurriedly left from the compound.

pastor Karumba and his followers unsuccessfully spent a day at Gakwegori Funeral home praying for resurrection of his deceased wife insisting she was not dead.

The 40 years old Pastor Karumba of Eagle Prophetic Church and scores of faithful who were armed with Bibles today shocked villagers after they camped at the morgue since 8am praying with ecstasy, singing and shouting on top of their voices.

They invoked the name of God to resurrect the  38 year old Ngwendo who died of   TB on the previous  Sunday but whom he emphasized was not dead but resting and would resurrect on the fourth day like the Biblical Lazarus who was brought to live by Jesus.

The pastor who had carried cloths and shoes to put them on his wife if he resurrect and the followers had sought the removal of the body of his wife and it placed on the display room where they prayed all day asking God to show his might by resurrecting her.

They prayed until they were drenched with sweat but did not give and continued until 5pm when the morgue attendants could not bear with it any longer and sought to return the body to the morgue.

The pastor and the followers however did not allow the press to enter in the morgue to cover the prayers and just talked with them while outside the room.

He said his wife fell sick and was rushed to Mwea Hospital where she passed way before she was transferred to the funeral home for preservation.

Karumba said he believed that his wife whom he loved so much had not died and that she will rise up again and that this is the reason why they were praying for her resurrection as they knew GoD was the most powerful Being  .

During the prayers the mortuary attendants watched them with bewilderment and anxiety with some saying they were also waiting to see the aftermath of the passionate prayers and witness the whether there would be a miracle.

“ I  believed my beloved  wife is resting and is not dead according to my understanding since Jesus visited Lazarus after three days and he woke up from the death. I know this will also happen to my wife,” said Karumba
