Elders from Kerio Valley will travel to Nairobi to stage a hunger boycott at Uhuru Park while seeking audience with President Kenyatta over increased banditry in the region, where more than 30 people have been killed this year.
The elders from the Marakwet community led by Retired Chief Cheserek Moinoi said the government had failed to end banditry and that the President was mandated constitutionally to protect the lives of Kenyans.
Non-governmental organizations' council chairman, Stephen Cheboi says the government should deploy police reservists to help end banditry.
