- Tottenham moved up to second in the Premier League with narrow victory over Newcastle

- Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka failed to gather Heung-min Son's shot late on for the only goal

- Spurs had the best of the chances in the first half but were unable to secure an early breakthrough

- Erik Lamela hit the woodwork for the hosts while Salmon Rondon's header struck a post for the Magpies

- Newcastle remain without a win at Wembley in eight appearances dating all the way back to 1955

In the title race or not, the pressure is applied and they can finally retreat and take a breather with no midweek game.

Pochettino gave his players two days off — to recharge batteries perhaps — before they plan for Leicester next Sunday.
